Owner - Waseem Zahoor - Treats 'n Eats Desserts
"It would be fair to say that Waseem - owner of the new Sheppard East Village dessert place, Treats ‘n Eats Desserts - has gone from serving Canada in the military for 25 years, to serving ice cream cones in our commercial area.
After spending many years away when serving our country in places like the former Yugoslavia and Israel, he wanted to give back to his community by offering up a great local place for dessert.
"I’m looking to put a smile on peoples’ faces,” says Waseem. Part of the reason he decided to open his own location was so that his family, including his wife and 3 children, could be involved in all parts of the business. “
After many years away traveling, I wanted to be close to home and close to my family, every day of the week."
The menu at this local shop includes pretty much anything and everything one might want for a treat. Ice cream by the scoop, soft serve ice cream cones, milkshakes made to order, smoothies, waffles, crepes, cakes, and chicken + waffles, for something more savoury.
The list of toppings are an endless display of sprinkles and fun.

Waseem can speak Urdu, Punjabi and English with the addition of staff members who speak many other languages to help serve their multicultural customers. He has done many different things over his lifetime, including cave diving in Europe, but is happiest now scooping a cone of butterscotch ripple ice cream for an eager customer – it happens to be his favourite flavour of ice cream at the moment. But with 23 other flavours on the menu, he might soon change his mind."
